Raising a puppy takes a village and you’re not alone! Let us give you the support you both need.
Our Puppy Playschool program in SE Montavilla, Portland offers dogs ages 8 weeks - 5 months opportunities for dynamic enrichment and training with our team of certified professionals. This program provides ample time and space for both indoor and outdoor enrichment activities and follows a rhythmic schedule that fosters intrinsic canine learning in a peaceful and nurturing setting. The focus of the program is to give puppies the chance to develop and learn at their natural pace.
Each puppy gets regular potty breaks, sniffari strolls, play time with well matched puppies and ongoing training through the day with three Certified Professional Dog Trainers. The group size is maximum six puppies.
What to expect
Class policies:
NO DOG PARKS/DAYCARES: Dog parks and Day Cares are breeding grounds for disease in all dogs but especially puppies. If your puppy is visiting dog parks/day care please stop going and request a fecal test from your vet to be performed 7 days after the last dog park visit.
DIARRHEA OR VOMITING: Your puppy will be asked to leave class immediately if they have diarrhea or vomiting in class. A negative fecal test result from the vet will be required to return to class.
ONE ROUND OF VACCINES REQUIRED: All puppies 16 weeks and younger must have received at least one round of DHPP vaccinations, and Bordetella at least seven days prior to their participation in class and proof of vaccinations must be provided.
PROTECTED FROM DISEASE: All puppies must be on a regular vaccination schedule during class and they should NOT be visiting daycares or dog parks as risk of disease contact is high in those environments.
MONTHLY PREVENTATIVES: All puppies of all ages must be up to date on monthly internal flea/tick, and internal parasite/heart-worm treatment.

please note:
Some puppies may show us that this training set up is too much for them to handle. Even if they start off doing well in the program, as puppies grow up their temperament and behavioral needs change. Sometimes puppies need to be pulled from this program before they reach 20 weeks of age because they are showing behaviors that indicate that this type of training set up or environment is not conducive to healthy learning or socialization. While we cannot offer refunds, should this happen we will work with you transfer your Playschool credits into another Noble Woof service that is more suitable for your pup's needs. We most commonly will recommend Private Training, or our Group Classes!

We recommend enrolling in this program if you want your puppy to learn how to play well with other dogs and also learn how to be calm in a variety of environments. Being able to settle in a variety of settings is one of the most valuable skill for our pet dogs to learn, and it’s often overlooked! In most cases it is not healthy for dogs to play for hours upon hours. This can cause arousal issues and extreme fatigue which can actually create and perpetuate problem behaviors. A tired dog is NOT a “good dog”. We focus on training and enrichment with short bouts of play when appropriate.
Training & Enrichment
This program prioritizes meeting your puppie’s species-specific core needs through enrichment and training. This is a holistic and evidence-based approach intended to help your puppy learn how to navigate modern living with ease while considering their unique personality and needs.
Every puppy gets one-on-one focused training time with our Certified Professional Trainers.
Nap Time
Providing ample time to rest and decompress after each activity is a very important aspect to holistic and effective canine learning. We ensure all Playschoolers get enough quiet time to down-regulate from stimulating activities.
Being able to settle is an incredibly important skill, especially as it’s transferable to other activities and environments, such as working from home or sitting at a cafe or patio.
Socialization & Play
We will systematically expose your puppy to novel sounds, surfaces, handling, and husbandry procedures in a way that builds positive associations. Puppies will also spend time playing with a well-matched classmate or group of classmates.
All puppies get solo training time to practice their unique goals with one of our Certified Professional Trainers.
