Learn to Love Training Together

We believe in setting every puppy and human up for success using evidence-based positive reinforcement training methods.

Are you an enthusiastic, but also potentially overwhelmed puppy guardian? Your new puppy has arrived, and sometimes they’re picture perfect, (usually when they’re sleeping), but the rest of the time they behave like an uninhibited feral land shark. You really want to get this right, and it turns out that puppy raising isn’t as straightforward as is written in the books!

Don’t worry. Our seven week puppy manners class will help turn your feral land shark into a certified good boy or girl!

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a seven week in-person group dog training series. Each class is one hour. There will be up to six dog/handler teams per class and two trainers. In class you will learn how to teach your puppy basic skills using positive reinforcement training systems.

We will help you prevent and reduce pesky problem behaviors. Our coaches make it easy and FUN for you to grasp the basic principles underlying all great training so you can better support your dog through all stages of their life with you.

Learn fun and effective training games that will help maintain skills even around distractions

Foundational Skills and Basic Manners

Focus around distractions
Resource guarding prevention
Mat Settling
Reward/Engagement strategies
Loose leash walking
Appropriate Greetings
Nose targeting & Recall
Sit and Down with hand signal/verbal cue

Socialization Skills

Exploring surfaces
Gear desensitization
Sound desensitization
Intro to grooming tools
Comfort with handling
Positive socialization exposure exercises

🌟 WEEK ONE is a Human-Only Orientation

Please leave your puppies at home or with a trusted friend or family member. In the first class we will talk about common problem behaviors and begin practicing training techniques with each other and potentially a volunteer helper dog.

*Attendance to this first class is required in order to proceed with all other classes.
