Turning Stress into Success!

Is your reactive or aggressive dog the center of your world, despite all the challenges? Perhaps you’ve done a ton of research, read the books and regularly applied the knowledge you’ve gained alone the way. Training has become a passion, but you know your dog is struggling daily. It breaks your heart to see their world get smaller and smaller as you try to protect their great big feelings from this great big scary world. Their emotions routinely get the best of them, and now you too. You care so much, but you feel powerless and unable to help.

Or maybe maybe your dog is a new-to-you rescue and you really want to get this right! You brought home your new pal already committed to helping them through their insecurities. You know the investment in professional training is more than worth it and you’re ready to put in the work.

Dog training takes a village and we would love to collaborate with you on your training goals so you can thrive together in your relationship, in training, at home, and out in the world.

REACTIVITY EXPLAINED IN SIX MINUTES: THIS IS JUST THE START

TRAINING TO ADDRESS CANINE FEAR, RESOURCE-GUARDING, LEASH REACTIVITY, OR AGGRESSION.

Aggression, fear, and reactivity are serious behavioral issues for dogs that can reduce the quality of life for them and their humans.

Living with a dog who struggles with fear and aggression is stressful but our certified professionals can help. We specialize in developing aggression treatment programs for leash reactivity, aggression towards dogs, and human directed aggression. We know how to handle dogs who have a bite history and can also help with fighting amongst household dogs. We use the learning systems of Modern Applied Behavioral Analysis to carry out behavior modification programs that greatly reduce the intensity and frequency of the problem behavior. Because fear and aggression are such complex and potentially dangerous behaviors, we often work in collaboration with Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorists at The Animal Behavior Clinic or Synergy Behavior Solutions.

Is your dog…

We provide training for fearful dogs.

We provide training for aggressive dogs.

We provide training for dogs who are a flight risk.

We provide training to help triggered dogs feel more comfortable.

The Four Pillars Of Your Behavior Program

De-stress

Prevention & Welfare

We will first develop a plan to de-stress your dog’s world using simple and proven management strategies that give you and your dog some instant relief from stress. We will help you understand how to meet your dog’s core needs through species specific enrichment games designed to lower their heart rate and decrease stress hormones. It will seem simple but it’s actually scientific!

This step helps your dog decompress so their brain is more receptive to “cortical remapping,” aka learning new things!

Rewire & Inspire

Rewire negative associations

One of the top reasons dogs behave fearfully or aggressively is because they have formed some kind of negative association with a particular stimulus or event. They have drawn a direct connection that triggers frustration, anger, fear, or protection instincts. This stage of the program will help them form new associations by pairing their trigger with something they love.

This is called counterconditioning and desensitization.

Remodel

Remodel Old Habits

Reactive or fearful dogs tend to have a well practiced freeze, flight, or fight response when triggered. These habits have proven to be effective in getting them out of situations they don’t like. We show them alternative and calming behaviors are also effective in resolving their conflict.

We will install a toolbox of new skills that will act as healthier habits they can lean on.

Restore & Enjoy

Restore your relationship

Imagine this! You have put the work in and you’re no longer scared or embarrassed of your dog. You two speak the same language, and your stress has shifted to success. Your dog is even getting compliments on the streets from strangers and your relationship has been restored.

Training is a journey not a destination, but when you love the journey it doesn’t matter where you end up as long as you’re together!

While Brie is mentioned as the trainer in both videos, all our reactivity coaches use the same pedagogy and were hand selected by Brie because they share Noble Woof’s guiding principles and are extremely skilled at what they do.

Practice training between sessions

Between training session you will practice the training games your trainer taught you in your training session. This is where the real learning happens. You will never be left unsure of what or how to practice the skills we provide you because our coaches meet with you regularly to review progress and we provide you will clear and concise homework. We will troubleshoot what didn’t work and how to be more effective next time, without ever shaming or blaming. We understand you are learning too, and we don’t expect perfection from any new learner.

Our training games are simple, fun, and effective!

Practicing with your dog will be the highlight of your day!

The importance of a check-up at the vet

Most behavior problems are fueled by hard to catch, and therefore undiagnosed health problems. If your dog is sick, in pain, or suffering from clinical anxiety, her brain will be shut down and the training we do won’t stick. As such, the first step to any behavior modification program is to get a check-up at the vet. Some severe behavior problems will require a referral to a veterinary behaviorist.

WHAT YOU WILL GET

You will get enjoyable homework and better adjusted and happy dog.

Every homework plan is customized to you and your dog’s personal needs and is updated every session.

After every session you will receive a Google Drive folder complete with a post-session recaps, video notes, and a custom handout library. You will know exactly what exercises to practice and how often.

Reactivity training can be emotional, but we know how to make it fun! You will never love doing your homework more, and the return on your investment couldn’t be greater.

“I was provided with a bunch of helpful training materials and felt supported to develop a training plan that would work for me and my dog’s reactivity.”
